Nestled just outside Kanchanaburi, ElephantsWorld is a sanctuary dedicated to the rescue of elephants coming from all over Thailand. Founded in 2008 by Dr. Samart and his wife Khun Fon, a veterinarian from the Kanchanaburi province, our sanctuary provides a safe place for old, abused and disabled domestic elephants. Each of our elephants has a unique story, having come from challenging backgrounds such as the logging industry, trekking camps or life as street beggars. These experiences are detrimental to their health and happiness, which was why ElephantsWorld was founded — to ensure that these magnificent creatures can enjoy their lives in peace and well take can for.
Our self-supporting organization cares for the daily needs of our elephants, thanks to a dedicated team of staff. We offer travelers an unforgettable opportunity to connect with these incredible animals through immersive programs, from a one-day visits to our week long Mahout Experience.
